Junior Engineers /Technologists

We are currently recruiting Junior Engineers/Technologists in our Calgary, AB office.

Position Summary

Successful candidates will participate in multi-disciplinary teams to successfully deliver project objectives for our clients. They will work under the supervision of senior technical staff to support the development of electrical, instrumentation, and controls deliverables. The candidate will have a technical background, innovative mindset, strong written and verbal communication skills, and an enthusiastic attitude. Other key qualities include a questioning attitude, desire to improve, accountability, and the ability to contribute to a team environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare electrical, instrumentation, and controls designs/drawings including, but not limited to, the following:
    • Control/Marshaling Panels
    • Cable Schedules
    • Power Distribution Drawings
    • Termination Drawings
    • Loop Drawings
    • I/O Module Schematics
    • I/O Lists
    • Instrument Datasheets
    • Shutdown Keys
    • Control Narratives
    • PLC and DCS Configuration
    • HMI Graphics
    • Construction Work Packages
  • Read and interpret P&IDs for electrical and instrumentation design purposes
  • Participate in on-site information gathering, construction support, and commissioning support
  • Participate in panel inspection and testing

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution with a focus on electrical, instrumentation, or automation
  • 0-4 years industry experience in engineering or with an end-user
  • Registered as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Technologist in Training (TT)
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis
  • Class 5 driver’s license
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English is essential
  • Travel to remote locations as needed to support field operations
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel and Word)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to positively collaborate in a team environment
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to join a solutions-driven team
  • Project Management certification is an asset
